The Integral Construction Advantage
PORTABLE DRILLING RIG
Integral uses a truss mounted drill rig invented by our founder and can drill soldier pile resting walls in tight access locations where excavator or crane mounted drill rigs cannot reach . We bring our drill rig in on a ramp in pieces and erecting the rig onsite. We can fit everything in through 36” walkway if needed.
ALLOWS INSTALLATION OF SOLDIER PILES WALL WHERE EQUIPMENT ACCESS IS LIMITED BECAUSE OF SMALL SIDE YARDS, LANDSCAPE WHICH WOULD BE DAMAGED, OR STEEP SLOPES THAT ARE NOT ACCESSABLE WITH TRACK MOUNTED OR CRANE MOUNTED DRILLING EQUIPMENT
Video 1. This site on the waterfront could not be accessed by tradition drilling equipment and was build using our small access machines. We also completed the above deck and framing as part of the permit.
Video 2 . This video shows our crew preparing to set an I beam using our drill rig tower and winch.
Video 3. In this video you see the I beam being lowered into the drilled hole in preparation for grouting into place.
This Drilling Rig was developed by Integral Construction in 1986 while building a large residence on Perkins Lane which runs along the bluff above Puget Sound on Magnolia Hill in Seattle. We had built the Carriage house at the top of the slope with a Crane mounted drilling Rig and had barged in equipment to allow building of a seawall and the building of the residence down on the water. We installed a cable tram for the access from the top of the slope to the house. However, to keep the steep slope stable, we needed retaining walls at several locations down on the slope which were not accessible from above or below. We took a couple of months working with a structural engineer to design this new portable drilling rig which has been improved during its continued use over the years since that project. It has allowed us to build many Soldier Pile Retaining Walls on site where other equipment simple cannot go and has also allowed us to work during Wet Weather Moratoriums because of its low impact.
DIFFICULT ACCESS SPECIALISTS:
Over our many years in this business we have developed specialized portable equipment to allow us to Underpin foundations, install Tieback Anchors, and even construct New Retaining walls in areas inaccessible by conventional equipment. We have developed a Portable Drilling Rig which can be hand carried into a difficult site. After being set up on its track, it can Drill and set steel beams for new retaining walls even on steep hillsides. We also have portable Anchor equipment to install both Tiebacks and Underpinning Anchors on hillsides or inside buildings where standard equipment cannot go.
Integral Construction is continuously involved in creating innovated engineer designed solutions for a diverse range of structures and construction projects. We have developed a special design for the in-wall termination of Tieback Anchors which allows stabilization of concrete walls without protruding connections.
So when someone asks what makes Integral Construction, Inc. one of the Seattle area’s finest foundation contractors? We say it is a unique combination of experience, design, quality and of course, an extraordinary commitment to our present and future customers.
From quick response to create temporary erosion control, to the Geotechnical Services which establish the soils conditions of the site and develop the parameters for permanent solutions, to the value engineering and completed Plans with the best structural design to stabilize and permanently secure your site or your foundation, Integral Construction is here to solidify the future of your site and your home.
